Engineering a Career

A fully accredited online course with bursaries available

Our qualifications are for teachers, educators and careers advisors who are looking for more research based professional development. They are designed to enable teachers and practitioners to further their understanding of the engineering sector, engineers’ skill sets and career pathways into the industry.

Engineering a Career is a course that identifies the links to engineering in every school subject, meaning that pupils who show aptitudes for engineering in any subject can be encouraged to look at that career path.

At the end, we had a chance to do a Q&A with three of the engineers who were there, and it was fantastic to hear about their different backgrounds. One of them had done a foundation apprenticeship, another had a zoology degree, and the third had completed an engineering degree. It showed that they were coming from many different angles.
There were also many types of engineering represented—it wasn’t just manufacturing. They talked about research and development, manufacturing, programming, and even additive manufacturing. It was just brilliant. I loved it!
